About Technical Support for WestGrid Users

Welcome to the home page for technical support for WestGrid users. Not only do we encourage you to take advantage of the technical support offered through these web pages, but, also to send your questions to the mailing list at

Technical support for WestGrid is provided by WestGrid staff and by system administrators and analysts from many of the institutions comprising the WestGrid consortium. All the support personnel are on the mailing list. Routine support questions to that list are handled by any of the support staff. Other issues may have to wait for a system administrator to respond from a particular site. In cases in which a local support analyst is familiar with the researcher and may be in a better position to help, through an office visit, for example, that analyst may serve as the primary contact.

About the WestGrid Support Web Site

A major reorganization of the WestGrid web site was undertaken in early 2007, but, changes will be ongoing. We welcome your feedback to, particularly if you have difficulty finding the information you need.

Navigation hints

There are several types of navigation provided on the support pages. These include the buttons for major sections of the site at the top of each page, the section-specific menus in the left side bar and the QuickLinks, also in the left side bar. The menu items with a round bullet link to another page, while the ones with a right-pointing triangle lead to the first page of a section containing a number of subsections.

Yet another type of navigation is provided by the "breadcrumb" trail at the upper left (such as "Home >> Support Home" for the current page), which shows the location of the current page relative to the major organizational sections of the web site.
